Fee Structure

Requesting locates is FREE. Other services are subject to a fee as outlined below.

Members’ Fees

At the ODA Annual and Special Members’ Meeting held in September 2023, Underground Infrastructure Owners (the Members) approved a 20% increase in fees beginning in 2024. Members approved a 20% increase (PDF) each of the next three years (2024, 2025 and 2026).

Annual fees: the total 2026 annual ODA members’ fee assessment amount is $16,400,880. Members’ fee assessments are calculated based on system usage from the previous annual billing period, specifically the total number of notifications received between December 1, 2024 and November 30, 2025. Each notification delivery medium (e.g., each email address or other delivery method) is counted as a separate notification for assessment purposes. Members should consider this when adding or updating notification delivery methods, as additional delivery mediums will increase the total number of notifications received and may affect future annual fee assessments. Fee assessments are issued to Members annually. Members who received fewer than 500 notifications during the previous annual billing period (December 1, 2024, to November 30, 2025) did not receive an annual assessment invoice in 2026.

Each Member is required to pay fees monthly to Ontario Dig Authority within 30 calendar days of the date on Ontario Dig Authority’s fee invoice. Interest charges may be applied to any unpaid balance over 30 days. Interest charges are 1.5 % calculated monthly or 19.56% per annum. Review the Penalty and Interest Policy (PDF).

Dedicated Locator Fees

1. Regional Notice Fee Model: $15,000.00 + HST per Dedicated Locator Zone

This fee model applies to a Project Owner that is working in the selected Locator Zone(s) as per the Dedicated Locator Regional Zone Map (PDF).

PAYMENTS

Ontario Dig Authority accepts four types of payments.

1. Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

Remit your company’s EFT or similar form to allow for direct deposit to ODA’s bank.

2. Cheques

All physical cheques should be made payable to Ontario Dig Authority and mailed to:

3. Interac e-transfer

Remit your Interac transfer to the following email address billing@OntarioDigAuthority.ca. Ensure to include your invoice number in the message. Interac and banks may charge you a fee for utilizing this option.

4. Credit Cards – VISA and MasterCard

Simply contact our Billing Department at 844-257-9490 ext. 8804 to arrange for credit card payments. An additional credit card processing fee may be charged for utilizing this option.
